Winners of the 2004 “Menu For Success” Writing Contest Recognized

 

 

 

 

Lawry’s Foods awarded the winners of the 2004 “Menu For Success” Writing Contest, focusing on African American culture and cuisine.  The company sponsored the contest and awards ceremony in partnership with the Los Angeles City Cultural Affairs Department’s 2004 Celebration of African American Heritage.  Bethune Middle School students (front row) Keneisha Ricks, Myshanea Dawson and Jazmine Hooks received their awards during the recent ceremony at the Youth Village in Leimert Park, where thousands of LAUSD youth enjoyed face painting, story telling and a variety of fun arts and crafts.  On hand to offer congratulations were (back row, l-r) Mastaneh Mahboub, Counselor, Bethune Middle School; Cori Lopez, Consumer Promotions and Public Relations Manager, LAWRY’S Foods; Margie J. Reese, General Manager, L.A. City Cultural Affairs; Eric Brown, Los Angeles Deputy Mayor; and William Harvey, Guidance Counselor, Bethune Middle School.
